Each comprehensive exam checks your x-rays, screens every tooth for decay, evaluates existing restorations, measures gum pockets, and includes an oral cancer screening. Twice a year keeps most smiles trouble-free.

Gum disease begins quietly: plaque left along the gumline hardens into tartar, gums grow red and puffy and bleed when brushing (gingivitis), and, untreated, the infection deepens the pockets around teeth and erodes supporting bone (periodontitis). It’s the leading cause of adult tooth loss, and research links it to broader inflammatory health issues. One more reason a holistic office takes gums seriously.

• Watch for: bleeding when brushing, persistent bad breath, receding or tender gums, teeth that feel loose.
• Prevention: brushing twice daily, daily flossing, and regular professional cleanings.
• When pockets deepen: a comfortable deep cleaning (scaling and root planing) removes buildup below the gumline, followed by a personalized maintenance schedule.

A composite filling repairs a tooth affected by decay, cracks, or fractures: the affected portion is removed and the space rebuilt with layered, tooth-colored resin that bonds to, and blends into, your natural enamel. Completed in a single visit, and always mercury-free.

Mild sensitivity to hot and cold can follow placement; it settles shortly as the tooth acclimates. Placed with our biomimetic technique, composites preserve far more healthy tooth than old-style fillings.

When a tooth is broken, heavily decayed, or carrying a large failing filling, a metal-free porcelain crown restores its full shape and strength. When a tooth is missing altogether, a fixed porcelain bridge closes the gap and keeps neighbors from drifting. The conservative middle ground: lab-crafted porcelain restorations for damage too large for a filling but not extensive enough to justify a full crown. An inlay fits within the cusps of a back tooth; an onlay extends over one or more cusps. Sometimes called a partial crown.

Every comprehensive exam here begins with a soft-tissue screening of the head, neck, lips, tongue, cheeks, and throat, looking for unusual sores, patches, or lumps. Oral cancers are highly treatable when found early. Which is precisely why the screening is built into every first visit and recall, not offered as an extra.

The deep grooves of back teeth are narrower than a toothbrush bristle. A perfect hiding place for food and plaque. A sealant is a thin protective coating flowed into those grooves and cured in seconds, sealing them off before decay can start.

Painless, minutes per tooth, and lasting for years (we check them at every visit). Brilliant for kids and teens, and just as useful for adults with deep grooves.
